Marriage of Figaro, Nov. 5-7
Don’t miss The Marriage of Figaro, a witty yet profound tale of love, intrigue, betrayal and forgiveness, on
stage Nov. 5-7 at Lone Star College-CyFair.
In this lyric opera, the story of the “The Barber of Seville” continues recounting the further comic adventures of Figaro and his bride-to-be
Susana as they try to counter schemes of Count Almaviva.
The preview night performance is Nov. 5; opening night performance with
reception following the show on Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m.; and a 3 p.m. matinee
performance on Nov. 7. All performances will be held in the Main Stage Theatre
in the Center for the Arts building at 9191 Barker Cypress.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students with valid ID and $5 for
all on preview night.

Thousands of Greater Houston residents will take steps to create a world free of
multiple sclerosis by joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone
Star Chapter at the Walk MS: Houston 2009 series presented by KBR, comprised of
five walks in Kemah, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands and downtown Houston. The
Lone Star Chapter aims to raise more than $360,000 to drive research and
support vital programs and services that address the needs and challenges faced
by an estimated 20,000 Texans affected by MS living in the Lone Star Chapter.

Day-of-event registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m.
start time. There is a no registration fee and no minimum pledge commitment;
however, the average walker raises $225 to support the Lone Star Chapter

On Sunday, Nov. 15, Walk MS: The Woodlands will be held at Panther Creek
Shopping Center(1.5 mile and 5 mile routes) 4775 West Panther Creek Drive, The
Woodlands. Registration begins at 9 a.m.; walk begins at 10 a.m.

Join the American Heart Association for a famiy friendy non-competitive 3-mile
walk. The walk, a part of the AHAs
’ nationwide campaign Start!, is aimed at getting people active. This year’s event will include three interactive villages that will provide entertainment
for walkers before, during and after the walk.
Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. The Start! campaign calls on Americans and their employers to create a culture of physical
activity and to live heart-healthy lives by walking.
Participating in the Heart Walk is easy. Walk as part of a company team, or form
your own team of family and friends. The money raised helps save lives.

THEATRE ENSEMBLE 2009-10 SEASON
Langham Creek High School Theatre Ensemble announced its 2009-10 season
featuring several contemporary plays. All performances will be at Langham Creek
High School, 17610 FM 529. General admission tickets are $10; students and
seniors $8.
Moon Over Buffalo takes the main stage on Nov. 5-7 and Nov. 13-14. This romantic comedy takes
place in 1953 and centers on a dysfunctional acting couple, as they attempt to
make it to Broadway.
Proof will take the stage from Dec. 10-12. Proof received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2001, as well as the Tony Award for
best play in the same year.
Proof centers around Catherine, the daughter of a famous, eccentric, mathematician
named Robert. Following Robert
’s death, Catherine is forced to deal with her own emotions, as well as the
arrival of her nitpicking sister.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by The Reduced Shakespeare Company will be performed on Feb. 4-6 and Feb. 12-13.
Do not be alarmed by the mention of Shakespeare
’s name; this is not an English class reading of his plays. In 90 minutes, the
entire collection of Shakespeare
’s plays is performed in a very comedic and entertaining way.

Renaissance Festival
The Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation’s largest, most acclaimed Renaissance theme park, announces the opening of its
35th season of adventure, merriment, music and romance. The festival is open to
