TOWN SQUARE SHOWCASE
Town Square hosted a Festival highlighting the exciting development and its variety of tenants. The fun day was filled with face painting, a live DJ, strongman, karate and boxing demonstrations and dance performances. Completing the day was a special appearance by ESPN Baseball Tonight analyst and former Major League All-Star player Eric Young, who graciously welcomed guests and signed autographs.

1) Demi Tuley, Stephanie Reed and Susan Maslanka
2) Kyley O’Brien and Katelyn O’Brien visit with celebrity guest, Eric Young.

LONE STAR HEMOPHILIA FOUNDATION
More than 48 teams joined for a walk, hosted for the second time by Minute Maid Park, to support the education/support groups, scholarships, financial assistance for emergencies and advocacy initiatives for those with blood disorders. The Lone Star Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation raised over $176,000 to serve the bleeding disorders community of South Texas. NHF exists to ensure that every South Texan living with a bleeding disorder has what they need to manage their medical condition successfully.

3) Guillermo, Kyle and Jake
4) Kyle from Swenke Elementary and Jacob from Adam Elementary
5) Houston Astros mascot Junction Jack, who led the walk, had a great time with his new pal Sarah.
6) Jorge from Langham Creek High School

JINGLE BELL JOG
I had the privilege of joining over 1,300 runners for the 2009 YMCA Jingle Bell 5-Mile Run. More than 5,000 joined the variety of runs and family walks during the day, many wearing their best holiday costumes. All proceeds from the 2009 YMCA Jingle Bell Run & Walk benefit the Downtown YMCA’s Partner’s Campaign, which provides scholarship dollars for people in need of YMCA programs.

7) A great time with friends Karen Costa and Jill Stevens.
