The Bindeman’s home is a vision in stucco, stone and chocolate brown detailing. • The house has a great indoor-outdoor flow with a family room that boasts great
views of the back yard, pool and golf course.
Mike and Birgitte Bindeman bought a house in Atlanta and spent a fair amount of
time making it their own.
“It was red brick, two stories with a basement, from the early ’90s. We did it a room at a time to suit us,” recalls Birgitte. “You might say we have pretty specific tastes.”
But when the couple was transferred to the Houston area, they quickly rejected
the idea of a house overhaul.
“Been there, done that,” she says. “We looked at some pre-owned homes, but there were always some major things we
didn
’t like. Pretty quickly we narrowed it down to wanting a new home. And we knew we
wanted to be on a lake or golf course, so location was important. And the stage
of construction was important so we could pick out the flooring, paint,
materials and surfaces we wanted. And, well, this is it. We found it.

What they found was a George Weaver custom home with an open floor plan and
expansive windows that capture a to-die-for view of the golf course. Nature
