The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has announced a portion of the lineup for
the 2009 Rodeo Houston.
Entertainers who are scheduled to perform include: Rascal Flatts, March 3; Alan
Jackson, March 4; Jonas Brothers, March 8; Reba McEntire, March 11; Brad
Paisley, March 12; Gary Allan, March 18; and Taylor Swift, March 20.
All three Wednesdays (March 4, 11 and 18) during the 2009 show will be
designated as Value Days, with entertainment value options including: $10 Value
Day Rodeo/ Concert Ticket (includes Reliant Park admission). Choose from the
three Wednesday superstar entertainers and championship rodeo action; $20 Value

Operation military embrace charity golf tournament
The first annual Operation Military Embrace Charity Golf Tournament will be held
on March 26 at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club, 37300 Golf Club Trail in Magnolia.
This four-man scramble event begins with registration at 10 a.m. and a shotgun
start at 1 p.m. Dinner and awards follow at 6 p.m. The cost is $125 a player of
$500 for a foursome. The price includes golf, lunch, dinner, goodie bags,
silent auction and raffle prizes.
OME provides much needed financial, motivational and moral support to wounded
patients at San Antonio

Vanessa Gonzales, Hispanic outreach specialist, and Cynthia Martinez, education
specialist, are offering a teen support group through the Montgomery County
Women
’s Center.
The group meets Monday evenings from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at 1600 Lake Front Circle
in The Woodlands. Female teens, between the ages of 13 and 17, who are victims
and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault are invited to
participate. The group meeting is free of charge.

Grammy-nominated children’s entertainer Red Grammer will present a live musical performance at the Centrum

Computer Classes at the Library, during february
Dave Smith, computer instructor, will be teaching seven different computer
classes at the Barbara Bush Branch Library in February The classes are computer
basics, Introduction to the Internet, e-mail, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and
Publisher. Each class meets for one 2-hour session. Call the library at

Knitting/Crocheting Group meets at the library, fridays
Knowledge Exchange, a knitting, crocheting and and conversation group, meets
every Friday from 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Earl Elliott meeting room at the
Barbara Bush Branch Library. All ages are welcome to attend. The group is
currently making lap blankets for veterans. They also need help making chemo
caps for M.D. Anderson patients and collecting items for an adopted soldier in
Afghanistan. Bring cards, books, toiletries or hard candy.
