randomly picked new release movie, perfect for any teenagers wanting to get out
of the house and enjoy a good movie in a relaxing environment.
The Hallelujah Book Club will meet on Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. Enjoy reading and
discussing works of Christian fiction that are on the market today. Learn about
the authors, the stories and discuss the ideas presented in the books.
Mahjong for Adults will meet on Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. Learn how to play the classic
Eastern game of Mahjong. Space is limited so call ahead to reserve a spot.
Computer Comedy Classes for Beginners will be held on Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 16
and Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. Classes are designed for beginning computer users with a
specific topic every week.
Preschool Story Time is held on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. This ever-popular story
time is a lot of fun and is designed to hold the interest of preschool-aged
children.
Northwest Library Chess and Go Club meet on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. Individuals of
all ages can enjoy friendly games of Chess and Go. Anyone wishing to learn how
to play or individuals wanting to improve their game can come and receive
instruction and lessons.
Toddler Time is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. This
ever-popular story time is a lot of fun and is designed to hold the interest of
toddlers from 18-36 months.
Baby Book Time meets on Wednesdays at 2 pm. Sing songs and learn movements to
various children
’s rhymes. This baby time is designed for 0-18 month olds.
Family Film Night is held on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Enjoy refreshments and a
current movie on the big screen projector. The movie are kid-friendly but can
be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Sit & Stitch is held on Thursdays at 10 a.m. Bring knitting, crochet, cross-stitch,

who have not yet learned to walk.

Cy woods high school seniors
Wildcats Right After Prom will hold monthly meetings on Feb. 4, March 4, April
8, April 22, May 6 and May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Cypress Woods High School
commons.
WRAP 2010 is sponsoring a fundraiser to leave a legacy for the future classes of
Cy Woods High School. A life-size bronze wildcat will be mounted on a base that
will include all class of 2010 senior student donor names. The cost of
participating is $50. Order forms are available at the VIPS window or go to
cywoodswrap.org.
Cy Woods Snuggie’s are $25 and will be sold at the VIPS window on Tuesdays and Thursdays during
lunches. Parents can also download the order form from the Web site and mail it
to WRAP with a check and their student can pick it up during VIPS sales or at
the next WRAP Parent Meeting.
WRAP will host the second annual Mr. Cy Woods Contest on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in
the Cypress Woods High School Auditorium. Admission tickets are $10 and will be
presold and at the door. Also limited VIP seating will be $20.

The Barbara Bush Library will present a Senior Movie Morning on the first
Thursday of each month. The first movie morning is set for Feb. 4 at 10 a.m.
This month
’s movie will be a comedy from 1941starring Gary Cooper, Barbara Stanwyck and

Theatre Suburbia’s third production of the season, Kold Radio, Whitefish Bay will run through Feb. 6.
This is the Houston premiere of this romantic comedy by Phil Olson. Lars is the
host of a radio show called
Crappie Talk, devoted entirely to the narrow subject of ice fishing. Martha hosts Book Beat and has all the listeners and advertisers. When Lars loses his only advertiser
and his fish out-of-water Brooklyn Italian boss fires him, he has his work cut
out for him. He needs his job and his dignity, but more importantly, he needs
Martha.

cy-fair isd Livestock Show and Sale
The 16th Annual Cy-Fair ISD Livestock Show and Sale will be held Feb. 11-13 at
the Cy-Fair ISD Exhibit Center, 11206 Telge Road.
Students from all 10 high schools will participate in the event. The three-day
schedule is as follows: Thursday
– Livestock Judging, 8 a.m. Rabbit Show, 11 a.m. Poultry Show, 1 p.m. Lamb Show,
3 p.m. Steer/Heifer Show; Friday
– Livestock Judging 8 a.m. Swine Show, 1 p.m. Goat Show; Saturday – 11 a.m. Buyers’ Luncheon at Arnold Middle School and 1 p.m. Premium Auction. The community and
all buyers are invited to attend to show support to Cy-Fair ISD students who
have worked diligently to prepare for the event.

pin oak charity horse show
The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious horse competitions, has officially launched its
65th season. This year
’s show will be held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy from March
17-28.
The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show will be held over a two-week period and will
feature a wide array of equestrian talent featuring hunters and jumpers,
American Saddlebreds, Andalusians, Welsh ponies, Dressage and the United
Mountain Horse breed. The crown jewels of the event take place throughout the
two weeks. Saturday evening of week one features the $30,000 Nordic Lights Farm
Grand Prix and Championship Finals. Week two features the $15,000 Chronicle of
the Horse USHJA International Hunter Derby on Friday and the $30,000 Grand Prix
on Saturday.
This year, there will be a USEF “AA” and THJA “A” hunter show during week one that will feature all Junior and Amateur Owners,
Juniors, equitation and classics.
No tickets are required Tuesdays-Fridays. Tickets are required for both March 20 and March 27 at 6 p.m. General admission
tickets are $10 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Sponsorship
Opportunities are available for the gala dining experience.
