Rodeo Art Winners - CFISD’s winners in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Program have been
announced.
In the high school division, Langham Creek High School senior Suzanne Erdely won Best of Show for her artwork, Cactabulous. Cypress Ridge High School senior Helen Han and Cypress Falls High School sophomore Katelyn Miller won gold medals for their artwork, Spirit and Sir Gordon, respectively. Jersey Village High School sophomore Pathy Pchan earned a Special Merit award for her artwork, Clean Shoes for Royalty.
In the Junior High division, Hamilton Middle School eighth-grade student Megan Jicha won Best of Show for her artwork, Shades of Blue. Labay Middle School eighth-grade student Jaydi Segura won a Gold Medal for her artwork, Country Graze.
In the Elementary division, Sampson Elementary School fifth-grade student Kelly Wilson won Best of Show for her artwork, Not So Twin Brothers. Fiest Elementary School fourth-grade student Saood Salahuddin won a Gold Medal for her painting, Cautious Cowboy.

Earn College Credit at UST During High School
University of St. Thomas
Houston area high school students can earn college credit during their junior
and senior years at a prestigious four-year university for half the price of
regular undergraduate tuition. The University of St. Thomas now offers a wide
variety of dual credit courses to high school students in fall, spring and
summer.
•Course topics vary from foreign language, history, communication and mathematics
to economics and political science.
•High school students take class on the UST campus and get a preview of a
university
environment.
Requirements Include:
•Houston area high school students in their junior or senior year are eligible;
•Admission is based on PSAT/SAT/ACT scores;
•GPA of 3.0 on a high school coursework with official transcript;
•Ranked in the top 50 percent of high school class;
•Courses must be approved by high school or school district.
