Cy-Creek Student Named Cheerleader of the Month
Caitlyn Rasmussen recognized for her talents as
cheerleader, student and community member
Cypress Creek High School sophomore Caitlyn Rasmussen was featured on the cover
of the February 2009 edition of American Cheerleader magazine as the
“Cheerleader of the Month.”
Rasmussen is featured in a three-page article inside the magazine titled “Crowning Caitlyn,” which highlights her talents as a cheerleader, student and community member.
A cheerleader since the age of 5, Rasmussen describes her desire to be a role
model to young girls. She won a gold medal in the cheer solo division at the
2005 Junior Olympics and will compete for Miss Texas Teen 2009.
She is a 4.0 student taking all honors classes, is a member of the Key Club and
coaches three cheer squads
—including a special-needs team—at her all-star gym. She has also helped raise money for the Susan G. Komen
Foundation.
“Cheerleading is such an important part of my life that being named Cheerleader
of the Month is the ultimate honor,
” Rasmussen said in the article.
