MEMORY WALK
The first Northwest Houston Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk took place at Heartland Willowbrook, becoming one of 12 annual walks that together form the nation ’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. The one-mile Memory Walk was followed by the Alzheimer ’s Association Forget-Me-Not Craft Fair Fundraiser featuring local vendors, clowns, entertainment as well as Klein and Cypress Creek High School FFA students with their animals. All of the donations were contributed directly to the local Alzheimer ’s Association.

1) Donna Martin, Gloria Espinoza and Dorothy Gurka.

CHILDREN’S MIRACLE
NETWORK
Cajun Family Restaurant partnered with RE/MAX and 1560 AM The Game to host a benefit for Children ’s Miracle Network. The smoke-free family restaurant opened its doors to the Cypress community to help a cause near to the hearts of the owners who lost a family member to cancer. The full-day event included a silent auction, dining and live broadcast from 1560 AM The Game.
2) RE/MAX sponsors Corey Guerrero, Sherrie Webb, Dawn Fore, Catherine Reinhard, David Jordan and Robert Fore.
3) Mike Guerrero from 1560 AM The Game, Cajun Restaurant owners Gary Gonzalez and Dean Thigpen, Camille Landry from Texas Children ’s Hospital, Whitney Peper from RE/MAX of Texas state office and David Nuno from 1560 AM The Game.

SALUTE TO THE STARS GALA
The Cy-Fair Educational Foundation held its 12th annual “Salute to the Stars” gala at the Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center. The gala recognizes teachers of excellence in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and funds both teacher grants and student scholarships for higher education. The gala included entertainment, a Razzle Dazzle raffle and a live auction —the hottest item being a dinner with Janie and Dr. David Anthony hosted at the home of Darlene and Ken Jajduk. Since its inception in 1998, Salute to the Stars has raised more than $1.1 million for instructional excellence grants and scholarships for Cy-Fair ISD graduates.

4) Bang Elementary Spotlight Teacher Deenie Ricke with husband, David.
5) 2009 Gala co-chairpersons Ted Lewis and Lauri Baker present Cy-Fair ISD Superintendent Dr. David Anthony with a check from last year ’s proceeds.
6) Jeff Boyd with his wife and Adam Elementary Spotlight Teacher, Hope Boyd, celebrate the evening with Julie Ryan and Cy-Fair ISD board member Don Ryan.
