Patty Mooney, the principal at Keith Elementary School, was named the new principal at Labay
Middle School. Mooney replaces
Dr. Cheryl Johns, who was named the new principal at Langham Creek High School.
Mooney has 27 years of experience in public education, 25 of which she served in
Cy-Fair ISD schools. She taught for two years at Bane Elementary School and
seven years at Francone Elementary School before accepting her first
administrative position
—as assistant principal at Metcalf Elementary School for five years. She then
served two years as an assistant principal at Ault Elementary School before
transferring to Spring Branch ISD as the principal at Hunters Creek Elementary
School for two years. She returned to Cy-Fair ISD as the principal of Jowell
Elementary School, serving four years before being named the principal to open
Keith in 2004.

Center Hospital expanded its maternity care services to incorporate a Level III
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
