townelake’s open house showcases trendmaker and newmark
On Thursday, April 8, Towne Lake will hold a Realtor luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1
p.m. in the Newmark model home in Towne Lake, and dessert and prize give-aways
in the Trendmaker model home.
On Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11, each day from 1 p.m.-4 p.m., the
community can view the beautiful model homes and partake in home-buying
seminars, prize give-aways and refreshments.
Newmark is offering buyer incentives up to $25,000 in design center selections.
Expert guests that will give seminars on energy efficiency, home financing,
design selections that match personality and lifestyle, interior finishes, and
the building process from start to finish.
Seminar topics offered at the Trendmaker model will include landscaping design
and energy efficiency, and there will be vendors on hand to speak to
prospective buyers about appliances, stone, granite and water filtration.
Some of the vendors lined up are GE, Designer Stone and DuPure. Starting April
10-April 17, Trendmaker Homes will offer $25,000 in design center dollars.
prom dress giveaway
The Sixth Annual Prom Dress Giveaway benefiting teens without the financial
means to purchase a dress for prom will be held at Lone Star College-CyFair
Branch Library, 9191 Barker Cypress in Cypress.
The dresses are free to the recipients and are theirs to keep thanks to
community donations. Dresses will be available for teens to try on and take
home on April 10, April 17 and April 24 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. in the library, room
131 as well as by appointment.

other tales
Houston Ballet principal dancers Sara Webb and Connor Walsh will perform as
Princess Aurora and Prince Florimond in the timeless tale of Sleeping Beauty
’s Aurora’s Wedding staged by award-winning HRB Artistic Director Victoria Vittum and
Barbara LeGault to Tchaikovsky
’s musical score. Sleeping Beauty and Other Tales includes a collection of pieces
designed to delight children and introduce them to classical and contemporary
ballet and modern dance: Storybook Fantasy and Tangled Web choreographed by
Victoria Vittum and the premier of I
’m in Charge of Painting My Soul (based on the children’s book Bear’s Picture by Daniel Pinkwater) choreographed by Jane Weiner, founder of Hope
Stone Inc.
Performances will be held at the Berry Center Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. and

cross creek ranch arts festival
Scheduled for Saturday, April 10, The Cross Creek Ranch Arts Festival is issuing
a call to artists working in all media.
Visitors to the festival will be able to view and purchase work from the area’s finest painters, jewelers, metal artists, sculptors, pastelists, photographers
and ceramic artists.
The Cross Creek Ranch Art Festival will be located in Fulshear, west of Houston,
off FM 1093 at 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane.

the voice of joy in concert, april 4
On Easter Sunday, April 4, 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Christ Church will host the
internationally known choir from Norway, the Voice Of Joy.
This group of gifted and anointed young people will touch hearts in a very
powerful way. Singing every genre, from traditional to gospel, they rock
audiences everywhere they go.

upcoming WRAP Events for Cy-woods high school seniors
Wildcats Right After Prom will hold monthly meetings on April 8, April 22, May 6
and May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Cy-Woods High School commons.
WRAP 2010 is sponsoring a fundraiser to leave a legacy for the future classes of
Cy-Woods High School. A life-size bronze wildcat will be mounted on a base that
will include all class of 2010 senior student donor names. The cost of
participating is $50. Order forms are available at the VIPS window or go to
cywoodswrap.org.
Cy Woods Snuggie’s are $25 and will be sold at the VIPS window on Tuesdays and Thursdays during
lunches. Parents can also download the order form from the Web site and mail it
to WRAP with a check and their student can pick it up during VIPS sales or at
the next WRAP parent meeting.
WRAP Formal Gown Resale Boutique will be held on April 10 from 8 a.m.-noon.

The First Annual Go Green Week at Cy Woods High School to benefit WRAP 2010 will be held April 12-16. Donate used cell phones, inkjet cartridges, laptop
computers, MP3 players and GPS devices as a recycling fundraiser. Drop off
items at Cy Woods High School.
WRAP will also be host ShredTex at Cy Woods High School on April 17 between 10
a.m.-2 p.m. for document shredding.
The Cy-Woods Wildcats WRAP Cookbook is ready and on sale for $15! Go to the Web
site and print out the order form and bring it to the VIPS Window or mail it in
to the address listed on the form.
The WRAP 2010 10 percent Nights at the Spring Cypress Chili’s and On the Border. WRAP will receive 10 percent of all food and beverages on
certain days in April.

clutch city karaoke, april 8
Rockets fans, join Heidi and Shane Battier on Thursday, April 8, at the Majestic
Metro in downtown Houston for the first-ever Clutch City Karaoke.
Houston Rockets, Texans, Astros and other local celebrities will battle it out
in a karaoke contest. Who will bring down the house? You have to be there to
decide. This night to remember will benefit, The Battier Take Charge
Foundation. Proceeds from the event will provide scholarships to deserving,
hardworking students from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston.

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church will hold its Spring Festival on April
24-25. Festivities kick off Saturday immediately after 5 p.m. mass and continue
to 11 p.m. Sunday festivities begin immediately after 11 a.m. mass and continue
until 7 p.m.
Attendees will enjoy games, dance, face painting, rides, bingo, plants, flea
market, sweets, raffle and barbecue dinner.

“JUNCTION BOYS” TO BE HONORED AT BENEFIT FOR TEXAS CHILDREN’S CANCER CENTER, april 27
Celebrating one of Texas football’s greatest stories, Texas Children’s Cancer Center hosts its sixth annual “An Evening with Texas Legends,” presented by Wells Fargo honoring 20 Texas A&M University “Junction Boys.” The football heroes will be interviewed live by legendary sportswriter Mickey
Herskowitz. Live interviews with 20 of Texas A
&M’s “Junction Boys” will delve deep into their journeys as Texas A&M football players. They will provide extraordinary insight into their personal
experiences during the 10 grueling days at the now-famous summer football camp
coached by Paul
“Bear” Bryant in Junction, Texas in 1954.
The event is planned for April 27 at The Hilton Americas Hotel, beginning with a
cocktail reception at 6:15 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m. and interviews at 8:30
p.m.
Chaired by Susan and Steven Solcher, proceeds benefit pediatric cancer research
conducted at Texas Children
’s Cancer Center, the number one pediatric cancer center in Texas.
